The Jagannath University Admission 2025-2026 dates are fixed. All exams will happen on Friday. (Note: B Unit exam has been rescheduled due to Saraswati Puja)

Application Eligibility

Who Can Apply? Only “fresh” students can apply. You cannot apply if you passed HSC before 2025. Second-timers are not allowed.

Passing Year Requirements

  • SSC or Equivalent: You must have passed in 2022 or 2023.
  • HSC or Equivalent: You must have passed in 2025.

GPA Requirements (SSC + HSC)

You need the following GPA to apply for each unit.

Note: The “Minimum Single GPA” means your GPA in SSC or HSC cannot be lower than this number.

Rules for English Medium (O/A Level) Students

If you are from an English Medium background, you must meet these grades:

  • O-Level: Must have passed 5 subjects.
  • A-Level: Must have passed 2 subjects.
  • Grade Requirement: Out of these 7 subjects (5+2), you need at least a ‘B’ grade in 4 subjects and a ‘C’ grade in 3 subjects.
  • Equivalence Certificate: You must apply for an Equivalence Certificate from the JNU Admission Website.

JNU Admission Form

The application is 100% online. You do not need to go to the bank.

Step 1: Registration

  1. Go to the website: https://admission.jnu.ac.bd
  2. Click on the “Click here to Apply” button.
  3. Enter your HSC Roll, Board, SSC Roll, and Year.
  4. Enter your active Mobile Number (Keep this phone near you).
  5. Click “Apply”. Check your information. If it is correct, click “Confirmation”.
  6. You will receive a Password via SMS on your mobile. Save this password.

Step 2: Login and Uploads

  1. Click on “Applicant Login” on the website.
  2. Log in using your Roll Number and the Password you received in the SMS.
  3. Upload Photo:
    • Size: 300 × 300 pixels.
    • File Size: Maximum 150 KB.
    • Format: JPG.
    • Background: White.
  4. Upload Signature:
    • Size: 300 × 80 pixels.
  5. Select Quota: If you have a Quota (Freedom Fighter, Tribal, etc.), select it now. You cannot add it later.
  6. Select Exam Center:
    • Unit A & B: You can choose Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, or Comilla.
    • Unit C, D, & E: Exam will be in Dhaka only.

Step 3: Application and Payment

  1. On your Dashboard, you will see the Units you are eligible for.
  2. Click “Click here to Apply” next to your desired Unit.
  3. Click the “Pay Now” button.
  4. You can pay via bKash, Rocket, or Cellfin.

How to Pay with bKash (Online Method)

Do not use the “Send Money” or manual “Pay Bill” option. Use the gateway popup.

  1. Click “Pay now by bKash”.
  2. A popup will open. Enter your bKash Account Number.
  3. Click “Confirm”.
  4. You will get a Verification Code on your mobile. Enter this code in the box.
  5. Enter your bKash PIN.
  6. Click “Confirm”.
  7. Final Step: After payment, go back to the Dashboard and click “Download Slip”. Keep this Pay Slip safe.

Admit Card Download

You must download your Admit Card online. Please follow these rules carefully.

1. When to Download?

  • The download dates will be on the website.
  • Important Warning: The download option will CLOSE 5 days before the exam.
  • You must download and print it early. Do not wait for the last day.

2. How to Download?

  1. Go to https://admission.jnu.ac.bd.
  2. Log in with your credentials.
  3. Download the Admit Card.
  4. Print a clear copy (Colour print is better).

3. On the Exam Day (Important)

  • Bring the Card: You cannot enter the exam hall without the printed Admit Card.
  • Teacher’s Signature: In the exam hall, the teacher (Invigilator) will sign your Admit Card.
  • Keep it Safe: Do not throw this card away. You must show this specific signed card later to get admission.
  • Photo Match: The photo on the Admit Card must look like you.

4. Banned Items (Do Not Bring)

You will be punished if you bring these items:

  • Mobile Phone.
  • Watch (Any kind).
  • Calculator.
  • Any electronic device.

Marks Distribution

The Jagannath University (JnU) Admission Test for the 2025-2026 session follows a new marks distribution system. The final result is calculated out of 100 Marks.

Total Marks Breakdown

The 100 marks are divided into two parts:

  1. Admission Test (MCQ): 72 Marks.
  2. GPA Results: 28 Marks.

1. GPA Marks (28 Marks)

Unlike some other universities, your SSC and HSC results are added to the final merit score.

  • SSC / Equivalent: 10 Marks.
  • HSC / Equivalent: 18 Marks.

2. MCQ Exam Pattern (72 Marks)

The written test for Units A, B, C, and D is fully MCQ-based.

  • Total MCQ Marks: 72 Marks.
  • Time: 1 Hour (60 Minutes).
  • Question Value: Each question is worth 0.75 marks.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer.

3. Subject Breakdown

  • Unit A (Science): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. (24 marks each).
  • Unit B (Arts & Law): Bangla, English, and General Knowledge. (24 marks each).
  • Unit C (Business): English, Math/IQ, Accounting, and Business Principles.
  • Unit D (Social Science): Bangla, English, Math/IQ, and General Knowledge.

4. Unit E (Fine Arts) Special Rules

  • Exam Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes.
  • MCQ Marks: 27 Marks (Each subject is 9 marks).
  • Practical (Drawing): 45 Marks.

5. Practical Exams for Specific Departments

Some departments take an extra practical exam after you pass the MCQ test:

  • Music & Theatre (Unit B): 50 Marks Practical.
  • Film & Television (Unit D): 50 Marks Practical.

JNU Seat Plan 2025

Jagannath University D Unit Seat Plan has been Released on January 7, 2026.

  • Go to the Admission Website admisson.jnu.ac.bd
  • Go to the Login Menu and Login with your Information.
  • Go to your applied unit.
  • Check Seat Plan in Detail.
  • You will also get an SMS with the Center Name and Room Number.

Admission Result

The result is usually published 3-7 days after the exam. Latest, Jagannath University Admission Result for D Unit was released on January 11, 2026.

  • Check the result online by login to the Admission website admission.jnu.ac.bd or wait for an SMS.
  • The university publishes a Merit List and a Waiting List.

Subject Choice

If you pass, you must fill out the Subject Preference Form. You will get 7-10 days for this. List your favorite subjects first.

JnU will publish the final subject allocation list. This tells you which department you got.

Auto Migration

Yes, Auto Migration is available. If a seat opens up in a subject higher on your list, you will be moved up automatically.

Final Admission

  • Pay the final admission fees online.
  • Submit original mark sheets and photos to the university office.
  • Complete the medical test.
  • Classes will start after all admissions are done.
